The Child Accident Prevention Trust
Making the Link is run by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) which is the UK's leading charity working to reduce the number of children and young people killed, disabled or seriously injured in accidents.
The Safe Network

In early 2011 CAPT's Making the Link project joined forces with the Safe Network - a joint programme with the NSPCC and Children England which provides tailored safeguarding support to the voluntary and community sector.
Our involvement will strengthen Safe Network’s ability to support local community groups in preventing serious accidents to children.
Why work in partnership?
Effective partnership working has been recognised as one of the key ways to reduce the number of children killed or injured in accidents. By doing this we can save countless lives, reduce inequalities, and also make substantial cost savings.

What's involved in Making the Link?
We work with voluntary and statutory organisations to encourage partnership working and best practice around child injury prevention. To do this we carry out the following activities:
- Partnership and networking events
- Specialist master classes on child injury prevention
- Mentoring local authorities and public health teams
- Sharing of best practice case studies and strategies
- Sharing of local evidence of what works in child injury prevention
